Web 2.0 Applications with PHP and Flex
Separate the Web 2.0 buzz from reality

Web 2.0 Applications with PHP and Flex

Speaker: Mike Potter

Session Description: In this presentation, the speaker will separate the Web 2.0 buzz from reality. He will show how application developers are using PHP, AJAX and Flex to create rich Internet applications that are transforming user experiences. He will present what developers are doing – right now – to design RIAs that combine the best of traditional graphical user interface applications with the wide reach of Web-based access, leading to better user experiences and happier customers.

Speaker Bio: Mike Potter has been developing Web applications for more than eight years. He has extensive experience with PHP, having created the Web site for the largest amateur sporting organization in Canada, the Canadian Curling Association. After developing that site, he went to work for OEone, where he helped build a Linux based desktop that ran inside the Mozilla Web browser and ran the Mozilla Calendar Project. Mike joined Adobe in 2005 and is now working on the Flex developer marketing team. Mike blogs regularly about rich Internet applications at http://www.riapedia.com/
