Zimbra Chief Buys into Dimdim
And he gets to join the Dimdim advisory board

Zimbra co-founder and CEO Satish Dharmaraj, the guy who sold Zimbra and its AJAX-based groupware to Yahoo, has put some of his own money - how much is unclear - into open source web conferencer Dimdim.

For what it's worth he gets to join the Dimdim advisory board. In a minute or two Zimbra e-mail is supposed to cozy up with Dimdim on unified collaboration and compete with Cisco and Citrix.

Dimdim lets anyone deliver synchronized live presentations, whiteboards, and web pages while sharing voice and video over the Internet with no downloads required.

It hosts web conferencing for up to 20 people to share their desktops, documents and slides, collaborate, chat and broadcast via webcam and comes in free and commercial versions that are reportedly capable of supporting thousands of attendees.

It is backed by the folks who put money in Skype, Hotmail and MySQL.
